Does mountieshop.com share my information with third parties?
We contract with third parties to assist us in maintaining and managing our customer information to fulfill promotions and to communicate with our customers. We do not authorize any of those third parties to make any other use of your information.

Mountieshop.com may contain links to other sites that are not under our control. These Web sites have their own policies regarding privacy, which you should review before visiting them. We have no responsibility for linked Web sites and provide these links solely for the convenience and information of our visitors.

Shopping is Safe at MountieShop.com
At MountieShop.com we don't just stand behind our merchandise. We also do our best to provide a safe and convenient online shopping experience.
That means we safeguard the integrity of our customers' credit card information. If your credit card or debit card ("credit card") is used in an unauthorized manner on our site (as determined by your credit card company), we will cover whatever amount your credit card company doesn't -- up to $50.
If you're not quite comfortable shopping online, or would prefer to make your purchase via telephone, just give us a call at 604-605-5557 (for our callers outside Canada or the US please include country code 1 when you dial). Our Customer Service representatives are standing by from 10 am - 6 pm Pacific time, or after hours you can leave a voice mail and we will return your call within 48 hours. We will be happy to take your order right over the phone.
Credit Card Safety
Protecting the safety of your credit card information is important to us.
We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your credit card information as it is transmitted to us.
SSL is the gold standard in Internet encryption technology, which is a fancy way of saying that it's a highly sophisticated method of scrambling data as it travels from your computer to our website's servers.
In the unlikely event where someone steals your credit card information or uses your credit card in an unauthorized manner on our site (as determined by your credit card company) -- through no fault of your own -- we'll cover up to $50 of the charges your credit card company doesn't. What's more, we'll do what we can to make the whole process as hassle-free as can be.
What about my bank or credit card company?
Your bank or credit card company will not hold you liable for more than $50 of unauthorized or fraudulent charges on a credit card. Your liability for unauthorized use of a debit card may be higher, but most debit card issuers voluntarily apply the $50 limit to their cards, as well. If your bank does hold you liable for any amount up to $50, Mountieshop.com will cover the liability imposed on you, up to $50. Mountieshop.com will cover this amount only if the unauthorized use of your credit card occurred at Mountieshop.com and through no fault of your own.
Remember: If unauthorized use of your credit or debit card does occur, you must notify your card provider, in accordance with the agreement you have with the company.
How do I know my credit card information is secure?
To make sure you are accessing our secure server before you submit personal financial information, look at the lower left-hand corner of your browser. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser), then SSL is active. To double-check for security, look at the URL or Location line of your browser. If you have accessed a secure server, the first characters of the address in that line should change from "http" to "https."
Some browser versions and some firewalls don't permit communication through secure servers like the ones we use to process orders at mountieshop.com. If for any reason you cannot access the secure server, please feel free to place your order with us by phone at . Our Customer Service representative will be happy to assist you.
C) Pricing Policy
Our Prices are in listed in Canadian Dollars and US Dollars but charged in Canadian dollars.
All of the prices listed on our site are in Canadian dollars and US dollars. US dollar prices are for indication purposes only (periodically we put in the exchange rate which converts our Canadian prices to US dollars for you convenience). All charges will be made in Canadian dollars and converted to local currency by your credit card company. Please note that exchange rates change daily and the exchange rate given by your credit card company will determine the final cost of the item in your currency.
What We do about Mispriced Items and Typographical Errors
We strive to keep the information on our site accurate and up-to-date. However, despite our best efforts, mistakes to occasionally happen. We will verify pricing after your order has been placed, and if there is any mis-pricing we will follow these standards:
1) If the correct price is lower than the stated price, then we will charge you the lower amount and ship you the product(s).
2) If the correct price is higher than the stated price, then we will contact you before shipping.
Unless an item is marked as a "Special Order" or is marked "Temporarily out of Stock" we normally keep the item in stock. If you order a "Special Order" item or an item marked "Temporarily out of Stock" please allow for 4 to 6 weeks for delivery on these items (we will contact you with an estimated time of delivery). As we process you order, if we discover that an item that is normally in stock, has become out of stock or there will be a delay in shipping the item to you we will contact you for further instructions.
D) Returns and Exchanges
We will accept any merchandise back for exchange or refund within 60 days of purchase (on non sale items - note sales on marked down "sale items" are final and there are no exchange or refund privileges on these items or on items which are special orders). The merchandise must be clean, unwashed, and unused in order to be returned (gift items must be sealed in the original packing). You will be responsible for the cost of freight for returning the item, and for Exchanges we will charge you the cost of the frieght to send you the replacement item. We will only refund shipping charges if we've sent the wrong item or if the item sent is defective.
If you recieve an item and it is broken...please note the condition of the packaging and call us at 604-605-5557. If your package was insured we may be able to claim for damages on your behalf. Please note that the Mounted Police Post Gift Shop is not responsible for items broken during shipment. We will only be responsible to replace items that were poorly packaged or that we determine may have been broken before shipment.
How to return items for Exchange or Refund:
The envelope must be postmarked within 60 days of the invoice date noted at the top of the invoice. We cannot accept photocopied invoices. For Exchanges, we will send the replacement item to you once we have received the item to be exchanged and are satisfied it is in good condition. On Refunds, we will credit the credit card used for the original purchase.
Pack and seal your return securely, in the original package if possible, and include a note detailing the reason for the return or exchange. Also make sure to include the original invoice with the item being returned. Packages must be returned prepaid -- we do not accept C.O.D. deliveries.

E) Choosing the Right Size
Child & Youth Sizes
There are two sizing schemes for children's clothing. The first scheme is Child Sizing, where the age of the child is the size based on the average size of a child at a certain age. The other scheme for sizing kid's clothes is Youth Sizing which goes from extra small XS to large L. Below is a chart for each scheme and the recommended age for each size.

Adult sizing for tops like t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc is based on the chest width (in inches). When purchasing a fleece or coat consider whether you like to have it loose enough so that you can wear heavier clothes underneath. In that case you may want to consider going to the next size up.
Except for the Mountie Stetson, all the hats on this site are adjustable. This means all the adult ball caps should be able to fit both smaller and larger adult heads. Infant hats will fit infants aged 6 months to age 3 years. Youth hats are adjustable for kids aged 3-8. After age 8 you should purchase an adult hat for the child.
To get the right size for the Mountie Stetson, measure your head using a seamstress measuring tape and use the following chart to guide size for your order:

F. Shipping Rates and Standards
We normally ship via the post office (Canada Post). When you check out with the items you have chosen, you will come to a shipping page. On that page, is the shipping cost for sending your item. This shipping cost is depends on your package weight, size, destination, and the shipping service you choose. The shipping cost is calculated by the Canada Post website using the weights and measurements of the items on our website. We also charge a $3.00 handling fee (Canadian Dollars) to help make up for the cost of labour and materials in packaging your order. The shipping cost you receive from the Canada Post website is fairly accurate to what our cost is for shipping the item to you. However, if you feel that there has been an error in assessing the shipping cost please contact us.
Canada Post offers a variety of shipping options that you can choose from. On the shipping page there is a drop-down list of shipping options available for the destination of the package. The following are the shipping options available for each destination (note: the small package option may not be available for larger orders). Each shipping option below has the number of business days the package will be delivered in, please add two business days for packaging to these figures (this is already included in the shipping quote on the shipping page).
Shipping options on packages for delivery within Canada
Xpresspost is the fastest available service we have available with our online service for Canada (please call 604-605-5557 if you need to arrange courier service). The delivery standard for Xpresspost is two to three business days. By choosing Xpresspost you will be able to track your package. Also up to $100 insurance against loss is included with the service. For packages over $100 additional insurance is automatically added at a cost of $1 per $100.
Expedited Post is a reliable ground service that is the standard service we offer for packages within Canada. The delivery standard for Expedited Post is two to four business days to Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan. To Eastern Canada the delivery standard is 4 to 7 business days. Expedited Post offers the ability to track your package. Also up to $100 insurance against loss is included with the service. For packages over $100 additional insurance is automatically added at a cost of $1 per $100.
Shipping options on packages for delivery to the United States
Xpresspost is the fastest available service we have available with our online service for the US (please call 604-605-5557 if you need to arrange courier service). The delivery standard for Xpresspost is three to five business days. By choosing Xpresspost you will be able to track your package. Also, up to $100 insurance against loss is included with the service. For packages over $100 additional insurance is automatically added at a cost of $1 per $100.
Expedited Post USA:
Expedited Post is a reliable ground service that we offer for packages delivered to the US. The delivery standard for Expedited Post is six to nine business days. Expedited Post offers the ability to track your package. Also up to $100 insurance against loss is included with the service. For packages over $100 additional insurance is automatically added at a cost of $1 per $100.
Small Package Air USA:
This service is available for smaller orders to be delivered to the US. The delivery standard for Small Package Air, to the US, is five to ten business days. The Small Package Air service does not come with insurance or tracking service and the Mounted Police Post Gift Shop will not replace lost packages using this service (this does not happen often but we feel you should be aware that not insuring your package is at your risk).
Shipping options for International Packages
Xpresspost is the fastest available service for international packages. The delivery standard for Xpresspost international is four to six business days (Xpresspost International is not available for all countries). By choosing Xpresspost you will be able to track your package. Also, up to $100 insurance against loss is included with the service. For packages over $100 additional insurance is automatically added at a cost of $1 per $100.
International Small Package Air:
This is a fast and economical service available for smaller international orders. The delivery standard for Small Package Air, on international orders, is seven to ten business days. The Small Package Air service does not come with insurance or tracking service and the Mounted Police Post Gift Shop will not replace lost packages using this service (this does not happen often but we feel you should be aware that not insuring your package is at your risk).
International Surface Packages:
This service is the most economical shipping method available for international orders. The delivery standard for Surface Packages, on international orders, is four to six weeks. The Surface Package service comes with insurance for amounts over $100 (packages valued less than $100 have no insurance with this service). This service has no tracking service available. Note: the Mounted Police Post Gift Shop will not replace uninsured lost packages using this service (this does not happen often but we feel you should be aware that not insuring your package is at your risk).
